Impact of raised beds on surface runoff and soil loss in Alfisols and Vertisols

چکیده
Hydrological monitoring is crucial to designing agricultural water management (AWM) interventions. This study characterizes the soil hydraulic properties of Alfisols and Vertisols develops rainfall-runoff-soil loss relationships through long-term hydrological monitoring. Two types landform techniques, i.e., raised bed flat bed, were followed in three paired watersheds 2–5 ha, characterized by deep Vertisols, medium Alfisols. Surface runoff monitored at outlet respective for 8–12 years. In addition, 29 infiltration tests conducted using a tension disc infiltrometer applying suction −150 mm, −100 −50 −20 mm. Soil macro porosity conductivity found be almost double those beds mm head both types. Saturated was higher compared Vertisols; however, less generated phenomenon largely explained high storage capacity Vertisols. Runoff from soils than 2% total rainfall (<500 mm) received dry normal years (600–900 mm), coefficient ranged 7–11% 16–17% case However, fallow land 17% due moisture content limited available cropped land. The method reduced surface 15–20 35–40 significantly lower during light moderate intensity method; this difference not significant events very rainfall. 30–60% beds. results are useful evidence-based AWM strategies under rainfed conditions.

Investigating the Effect of Surface Gravel Cover on Runoff and Soil Erosion with Simulating Runoff
Surface gravel cover is an important factor for contoroling of soil erosion in dry area specially in area that plant can not grow because of excessive dryness and salinity. The objective of this study was investigation effect of different surface gravel cover on runoff and sediment yeild. For this porpose, 36 field plots with 20 meter length and 0.5 meter width at 3 percent slope were construct...

the purpose of the present study was to see which one of the two instruction-processing instruction (pi) and meaningful output based instruction (mobi) accompanied with prompt and recast- is more effective on efl learners’ writing accuracy. in order to homogenize the participants in term of language proficiency a preliminary english test (pet) was administrated between 74 intermediate students ...
Surface Residue and Soil Moisture Affect Fertilizer Loss in Simulated Runoff on a Heavy Clay Soil
The potential for non-point-source pollution of surface waters from agricultural lands continues to be a concern. Our objective was to determine the effect of surface residue management and fertilizer application timing in regards to soil moisture conditions on nutrient losses in runoff. Studies were conducted using a rainfall simulator that applied 125 mm h-1 for 3 h to an Austin (Udorthentic ...
متن کاملThe effect of physical and chemical treatments on runoff, infiltration and soil loss
ABSTRACT- In recent years, intensive drought has caused a severe yield reduction in rain-fed trees. Increasing runoff of low amount rainfall can be used to provide partial water requirement of rain-fed trees. To achieve this objective, some strategies including gravel removal (G), rill construction across to slope (R) and applying of baking soda (S) and their effects on runoff, rainfall infiltr...
